A Dead Friend Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFEF GHIHJKLK

IT hardly seems that he is deadA
So strange it is that we are hereB
Beneath this great blue shell of skyC
With apple bloom and pearD
It scarce seems true that we can noteE
The bursting rosebud s edge of flameF
Or watch the blackbird s swelling throatE
While he is but a nameF
-
No more the chaffinch at his stepG
Pipes suddenly her shrill surpriseH
For in an ecstasy of sleepI
Unconsciously he liesH
Not knowing that the sweet brown larkJ
From off her bosom s feathery laceK
Shakes down the dewdrop in her flightL
To fall upon his faceK
