Lines For The Bridal Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB ADAD AEFE AGHG AIJA ADKD ALML

They will place a bridal wreath maidenA
To crown all your shining hairB
The mist like cloud of the bridal veilC
Will float round a face most fairB
-
They will dress you in bridal robes maidenA
And the holy words be saidD
And the ring put on and two made oneA
And the maiden we love be wedD
-
You'll give him your virgin hand maidenA
And become a wedded wifeE
That hand will mingle honey for twoF
To sweeten the bitter of lifeE
-
They will give you costly gifts maidenA
And many a wish besideG
Will rise in prayer in blessings come downH
On thy head O fair young brideG
-
And kind will the bridegroom be maidenA
True and tender as years roll onI
Who learns to love in the school of ChristJ
Will cherish what he has wonA
-
And so what can I say more maidenA
Wooed and won and to be wedD
Pray that His blessing who loved till deathK
May rest on your fair young headD
-
In the hollow of His hand maidenA
He will keep you who fainteth notL
He will cause the splendour of His faceM
To shine on your happy lotL
