I Will Not Be Comforted Because One Is Not Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEEFF GGFFHH

There is a gladness over all the earthA
For summer is abroad in breezy mirthA
Nature rejoices and the heavens are gladB
And I alone am desolate and sadB
For I sit mourning by an empty cotC
Refusing comfort because one is notC
-
And I will mourn because I am bereavedD
Others have suffered others too have grievedD
Over hopes broken even as mine are brokeE
By a swift unexpected bitter strokeE
And I must weep as weeping Jacob prestF
To grieving lips his last ones princely vestF
-
You tell me cease weeping to resignG
Unto the Father's a will this will of mineG
You say my lamb is on the Shepherd s breastF
My flower blooms in gardens of the blestF
I know it all I say Thy will be doneH
Yet I must mourn for him my son my sonH
