Gone Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGD HIJI KDLD JMNM

The heavens look down with chilly frownA
The sun blinks oot wi' watery e'eB
The drift flies fast upon the blastC
The naked trees moan shiveringlyD
-
The sun is gone by mists withdrawnE
Muffling his head in snow clouds greyF
The earth turns white against the nightG
The laden winds drive furiouslyD
-
The flowers are slain that graced the plainH
The earth is locked wi' bitter frostI
And my heart cries to stormy skiesJ
After the dreary loved and lostI
-
The spring will come the flowers will bloomK
The leaves in beauty clothe the treeD
But never more oh never moreL
Will my lost darling come to meD
-
Beyond the skies her happy eyesJ
Look fearlessly in eyes DivineM
The bitter smart the hungry heartN
Waiting with empty arms is mineM
