Edgar Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

I have not wept for Edgar as a motherA
Weeps for the tender lamb she lays to restB
And yet it cannot be that any otherA
Baby like him shall lie upon my breastB
For he was with us but a passing guestB
A birdling that belonged not to the nestB
-
Looking upon his large dark eyes so tenderA
Filled with the solemn light of ParadiseC
I knew that word would soon come to surrenderA
My babe not mine but native to the skiesD
As the sweet lark that ever upward fliesD
He would be taken from my longing eyesD
-
For from the first he looked to be earth wearyE
And clung to me with no desire to playF
He never laughed and crowed with spirit cheeryE
Like my earth babies but from day to dayF
Seemed ever yearning for the far awayF
And well I knew he could not with me stayF
-
The angels whispered things I knew not ofG
My babe had visions of a far off landH
I knew it that he yearned for higher loveG
And reached to touch another unseen handH
That drew him from my little household bandH
They wailed for him of whom they were so fondI
-
And when he closed his eyes and fell asleepJ
Loosening his baby grasp away from mineK
Turning from me that had no power to keepJ
The glory of a placidness divineK
Beamed on his face I took it for a signK
And bowed my head to say Thy will is mineK
-
I weep for him in silence of the nightL
I see him where the holy angels areM
His radiant eyes have lost their mournful lightL
And beam with happy glory like a starM
I weep with mournful joy to think that whereN
The Master is my little babe is thereN
