I Shall Soon Fall Prey To Rot Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC CDEF GHEE IJCE

I shall soon fall prey to rotA
Though it's hard to die it's good to dieB
I shall ask for no one's pityC
And there's no one who would pity meC
-
With my lyre I won no gloryC
For my noble family nameD
And I die as distant from my peopleE
As the day that I began to liveF
-
Ties of friendship unions of the heartG
All are broken from my youthH
Fate has sent me foes implacableE
While my friends all perished in the struggleE
-
Their prophetic songs were left unfinishedI
They fell victim to misfortune were betrayedJ
In the bloom of life and now their portraits watch meC
From the walls reproachfullyE
