To A Poet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FGHG IJKL

Let verse of yours be flexible but strongA
Strong as a poplar under valley's coverB
Strong as the earth under a plough longA
Strong as a girl who never knew a loverB
-
Reliably preserve severity at lengthC
Your verse need not be fluttering or boomingD
Although the Muse has very easy stepsE
She's not a dancer but a goddess rulingD
-
Frolicsome din of interrupted rhymesF
Temptation for decline so free and so easyG
Just leave for use by jokers in a danceH
On city streets for people who aren't busyG
-
And going out on the sacred pathsI
Bring to melodiousness your chosen damnationJ
You know she's a mistress of the massK
She craves embraces as a dearth donationsL
