The Sixth Sense Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IJIK LKLK MNON PKQB

Fine is the wine that is in love with usA
The goodly bread we wait for from the ovenB
And woman whom we have possessed at lastC
After we've suffered under yoke her ownD
-
But what to do if a red sunset freezesE
Above a sky that's drowning in coldF
Where there is silence and unearthly peaceG
What can one do with the immortal odeH
-
You can't eat it or drink or even kissI
The moment fled and next one now hoversJ
And we wring hands but yet once more missI
We are condemned to miss and miss it overK
-
Just as a boy forgetting games and friendsL
Sometimes beholds the girls bath in a riverK
And knowing nothing of the loving trendsL
Is yet tormented by a hidden feverK
-
As once in time on overgrowing banksM
The moisten creature holed in despairN
Of self impotence feeling on its backO
Wings still unformed and very feeble pairN
-
So century after century when O ChristP
Under the knife of liberal arts and natureK
The flesh breaks down and the spirit criesQ
As they bear organs of the sixth sensationB
