The Road Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEAF AGHI JIKI JIKL

I stared at the unfolding roadA
Beneath the shadow of grand oaksB
Such a familiar old roadA
Surrounded by flower fenceC
-
The evening fog starts slowly settingD
Uneasy sadness brings me tearsE
When every pebble on this roadA
Seems so familiar and dearF
-
Why would I ever take the roadA
It will not bring me to the placeG
Where air gets stifled in my throatH
The house where my beloved livesI
-
When she was born her feet were strangledJ
They put them in the iron gyvesI
And she grew up to be a strangerK
To shady roads calling vibesI
-
When she was born her heart was strangledJ
They put it in the iron gyvesI
And she who s been my heart s desireK
Will never be my dear wifeL
