Giraffe Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEFG HIJK LMNO MPAC

Today I see your glance is especially sadA
And your arms embracing your knees especially thinB
Listen far far away on the Lake of ChadA
Wanders a gentle giraffeC
-
He is endowed with slender grace and blissD
And his hide adorned with a magical designE
Which the moonlight alone shattering and rockingF
On the wide wet of the lake dares to rivalG
-
From afar he resembles the colored sails of a shipH
And his gait is smooth as the joyful flight of a birdI
I know that the earth will witness many wondersJ
When at sunset he hides in a marble grottoK
-
I could tell merry tales of mysterious landsL
Of a black maiden a young chief's passionM
But you have too long inhaled the heavy mistN
You will believe in nothing but the rainO
-
And how can I tell you about a tropical gardenM
Slender palms the scent of inconceivable herbsP
Are you crying Listen Far off on the Lake of ChadA
Wanders a gentle giraffeC
