Forest Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB CD EF GG HH II JJ KK LM NO PQ RS TU VW XX

In that magic forest towering treesA
Unexpectedly come forward from the hazeB
-
Out of the earth roots spring from other rootsC
Like the arms of the dwellers of burial vaultsD
-
Under the cover of the blazing autumn leavesE
Lonesome giants trolls and lions used to liveF
-
Here sailors saw the tracks in golden sandG
Left behind by a six fingered human handG
-
Peers of France and Arthurian valiant knightsH
Never set on this forbidden place their sightsH
-
Nor the bushes ever hid a pirates lairI
Nor a hermit ever made his lodging thereI
-
Only once they saw in a lurid tempest s lightJ
Cat headed woman softly stepped into the nightJ
-
Doomed to wear a solid silver coronetK
She was lamenting and sobbing till the sunsetK
-
No communion was given by a priestL
When by quiet dawn she passed away in peaceM
-
All this happened all this happened in those yearsN
Which have passed without leaving any traceO
-
All this happened all this happened in a realmP
Which would never come across your wildest dreamsQ
-
I imagined all of this by looking atR
Fiery braids that always snake around your headS
-
Looking at your ever changing greenish eyesT
They're akin to Persian feverish turquoiseU
-
Well perhaps that forest is a soul of yoursV
Well perhaps that forest 's always my remorseW
-
Or perhaps one day when we will dieX
To this forest we will travel you and IX
