Don Juan Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGC CCH IJK

My own dream is lofty simple thingA
To seize the oar put feet into the stirrupsB
And to deceive the time that slow tries to stir usC
By kissing lips forever new and pinkD
-
When getting old to keep the law of ChristE
Cast down looks put on sackcloth and ashesF
Put on the chest as heavy obligationsG
The iron Cross that He died on for usC
-
And only when amidst the orgy s madnessC
I get my senses a sleepwalker aimlessC
Just frightened in the silence of his waysH
-
Then I recall the worst of many othersI
I had no children from a woman in my yearsJ
And never called a man a brotherK
