On The Death Of Miss Fanny V. Apthorp Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDCEFGHIJKLDMKNODP FDQCRS

'Tis difficult to feel that she is deadA
Her presence like the shadow of a wingB
That is just given to the upward skyC
Lingers upon us We can hear her voiceD
And for her step we listen and the eyeC
Looks for her wonted coming with a strangeE
Forgetful earnestness We cannot feelF
That she will no more come that from her cheekG
The delicate flush has faded and the lightH
Dead in her soft dark eye and on her lipI
That was so exquisitely pure the dewJ
Of the damp grave has fallen Who so lov'dK
Is left among the living Who hath walk'dL
The world with such a winning lovelinessD
And on its bright brief journey gather'd upM
Such treasures of affection She was lov'dK
Only as idols are She was the prideN
Of her familiar sphere the daily joyO
Of all who on her gracefulness might gazeD
And in the light and music of her wayP
Have a companion's portion Who could feelF
While looking upon beauty such as hersD
That it would ever perish It is likeQ
The melting of a star into the skyC
While you are gazing on it or a dreamR
In its most ravishing sweetness rudely brokenS
