Hero Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AB CDEAFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTJ OJUVSWXYJB| Claudio Know you any Hero | A |
| Hero None my lord As You Like it | B |
| - | |
| - | |
| Gentle and modest Hero I can see | C |
| Her delicate figure and her soft blue eye | D |
| Like a warm vision lovely as she stood | E |
| Veiled in the presence of young Claudio | A |
| Modesty bows her head and that young heart | F |
| That would endure all suffering for the love | G |
| It hideth is as tremulous as the leaf | H |
| Forsaken of the Summer She hath flung | I |
| Her all upon the venture of her vow | J |
| And in her trust leans meekly like a flower | K |
| By the still river tempted from its stem | L |
| And on its bosom floating | M |
| Once again | N |
| I see her and she standeth in her pride | O |
| With her soft eye enkindled and her lip | P |
| Curled with its sweet resentment like a line | Q |
| Of lifeless coral She hath heard the voice | R |
| That was her music utter it and still | S |
| To her affection faithful she hath turned | T |
| And questioned in her innocent unbelief | J |
| Is my lord well that he should speak so wide | O |
| How did they look upon that open brow | J |
| And not read purity Alas for truth | U |
| It hath so many counterfeits The words | V |
| That to a child were written legibly | S |
| Are by the wise mistaken and when light | W |
| Hath made the brow transparent and the face | X |
| Is like an angel's virtue is so fair | Y |
| They read it like an over blotted leaf | J |
| And break the heart that wrote it | B |
