Jesus Intercedes Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BABACDCD EFGFHDHD IJIKLDLD

Seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them HebrewsA
-
-
When winding up the path of lifeB
Sometimes mid thorns sometimes mid flowersA
Oft weary of its toil and strifeB
Oft weary of its wintry hoursA
There is one thought than all more sweetC
From care my longing heart to freeD
'Tis this oh wondrous to repeatC
That Jesus intercedes for meD
-
And always when the path is steepE
I cling unto this wayside ropeF
Nothing can give so great reliefG
Nothing can give a brighter hopeF
'Tis like a stately spreading palmH
Which forms my spirit's canopyD
'Neath which I breathe the soothing balmH
That Jesus intercedes for meD
-
And when I reach the sea of deathI
To sail its silent waters o'erJ
This thought shall calm my latest breathI
And waft me to the golden shoreK
Not only that my Savior diedL
The atoning lamb on CalvaryD
But was there ever love so wideL
Still lives and intercedes for meD
