Until the day break and the shadows flee away Song of SolomonA
-
-
Gleaming softly silvery faintB
Heralded by chanticleerC
Merging from night's shadowy taintB
New day of the passing yearC
-
Born to bless or born to blightD
Born for you and born for meE
Leaving ere it take its flightD
Impress on eternityE
-
'Tis a gift from God's own handF
On its pure unsullied pageG
Let us write at his commandF
What will bless our pilgrimageH
-
True repentance giveth joyI
To the angels in the skyJ
What could be more blest employI
Than to cheer the choirs on highJ
-
Deeds of patience deeds of loveK
Banishing all hate and guileL
These will steer toward heaven aboveK
These will make the angels smileL
-
May this child of time uniteD
Earth and heaven in blest accordM
Heathen nations see the lightD
From the cross of Christ our LordM
-
Coming is the glad daybreakN
The prophetic jubileeE
Sin will then all hearts forsakeN
Then will all the shadows fleeE
