Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHFI JKLMJNOPQN KRJSTUVP NWXEYNZEA2 A2NNHA2B2A2VE C2YD2E2A2C2A2A2F2A2F 2G2NH2| Those children dressed in rugs | A |
| That made them better than the rich | B |
| And their gray faces that looked | C |
| Like children of holy ghosts | D |
| It was not a shock but a reality | E |
| I sat opposite the stage of performance | F |
| In a school visitation day | G |
| Where hardworking parents were expected | H |
| Expectant of their children s performance | F |
| I was tempted to call it a living hell | I |
| - | |
| I am sorry for my eyes | J |
| This little girl came forward | K |
| A girl with little shy breasts | L |
| And that skirt short like | M |
| The distance between eyes | J |
| Her limbs tall and slender | N |
| Like the fattest grass in Buluganya forest | O |
| And like a pig burning with libido | P |
| For a man pig | Q |
| All the house brought their attention closer | N |
| - | |
| She spread her arms forward | K |
| Pulled her brief skirt | R |
| Above her dirty raw thighs | J |
| And then she twisted her wasp like waist | S |
| Her legs begun colliding as | T |
| She started stealing in her dances | U |
| That was but the beginning | V |
| Of my wonder up to tomorrow | P |
| - | |
| The house was then full of fire | N |
| Full of malodorous orders | W |
| Mixed with unbathed bodies | X |
| And the gods that women use for beauty | E |
| And then she collided on the floor again | Y |
| Like a millipede running away from danger | N |
| She rapidly moved her buttocks | Z |
| From bottom to top artfully | E |
| Like graduates in their last rehearsals | A2 |
| - | |
| The whole room was then lost in laughters | A2 |
| All the attention only set on her | N |
| All their eyes only pointing onto her | N |
| All their faces were twisted | H |
| To send her smiles of applause | A2 |
| Their teeth were cemented out | B2 |
| To send their cheers | A2 |
| And all their heads nodding | V |
| To give her company | E |
| - | |
| She then turned to them her back | C2 |
| And lifted her buttocks again | Y |
| Rotated before them | D2 |
| Like a bee guarding its hive | E2 |
| She then walked on her hands | A2 |
| While breaking and mending her back | C2 |
| In what they called break dance | A2 |
| She danced all dances | A2 |
| The dances I had never seen | F2 |
| She danced all styles | A2 |
| The styles I had never seen | F2 |
| That young girl is a mature woman | G2 |
| Spoilt by either her mother or father | N |
| At such a tender age | H2 |
