The Poet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABA CDCDC EFEGE HIHJH

Himself is least afraidA
When the singing lips in the dustB
With all mute lips are laidA
For thither all men mustB
Nor is the end long stayedA
-
But he having cast his songC
Upon the faithful airD
And given it speed is strongC
That last strange hour to dareD
Nor wills to tarry longC
-
Adown immortal timeE
That greater self shall passF
And wear its eager primeE
And lend the youth it hasG
Like one far blowing chimeE
-
He has made sure the questH
And now his word gone forthI
May have his perfect restH
Low in the tender earthJ
The wind across his breastH
