Sonnet Iii (to The Virgin Mary) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFDG HIJ KLD

Unequalled Virgin the second ornamentA
Of the human race whose dignity has not diminishedB
Her humility nor has humility lessened her generosity of heartC
O rare Mother of her own CreatorD
-
You have crushed the head of the serpent whose venomE
Has poisoned the entire worldF
You assumed your place in Heaven above the angels' choirD
And there glorified you partake of eternal joyG
-
For our souls you are like a moonH
Which reflects the rays of eternalI
Charity as our grievous sinfulnessJ
-
Descends on us like a night's dark shadowK
Lead us to the morning dawnL
And show us the light of your Sun which we all desireD
