She's mistress of allA
Rule of this earthB
To her is entrustedC
Fortune she's calledD
But for her Maia's son whomE
She grants gifts be naughtF
Man living for gainG
Mars fast to shed bloodH
Stand both in her handI
He fears her evenJ
Whom Yenus enflamesK
He praises her tooL
Who lives by his toilM
In sweat and in thriftN
Kindly at her he'd lookO
Who mocks her in wordP
For wise deliberationQ
Wishing she'd turn to disputeR
Of a king a pauperS
Of a slave a kingT
Should she will she'd makeU
She's heedless on whomE
Her gifts she bestowsK
In which no trustV
Is she wont to keepW
So doth she sportX
Through inconstancy aloneY
She endures unchangingT
To wander hither and yonZ
Ruling earth with no rulesK
In this tho she's lessK
Unto virtue persistingT
Would she fast submitA2
With it forever in strifeB2
