Epitaph To Rome Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDBEFBGHIJKL

If midst Rome you wish to see Rome pilgrimA
Tho in Rome naught of Rome might you seeB
Behold the walls' ring the theatres templesC
And ruptured pillars to rubble all turnedD
Rome be these Mark how the corpse of a cityB
So strong still past fortune's pomp exudesE
Subduing a world herself the city subduedF
Lest yet more to subdue might there beB
Today in broken Rome Rome unbrokenG
A substance in its shadow lies entombedH
Within all's changed alone past changeI
Tiber remains that to sea runs mixed with sandJ
See what Fortune plays 'tis wasted awayK
What was unmoving what moved yet remainsL
