The Impeachment Of Night Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCCBBCCBDEFEEF

Perch Febo non torceA
-
-
What time bright Phoebus doth not stretch and bendB
His shining arms around this terrene sphereC
The people call that season dark and drearC
Night for the cause they do not comprehendB
So weak is Night that if our hand extendB
A glimmering torch her shadows disappearC
Leaving her dead like frailest gossamereC
Tinder and steel her mantle rive and rendB
Nay if this Night be anything at allD
Sure she is daughter of the sun and earthE
This holds the other spreads that shadowy pallF
Howbeit they err who praise this gloomy birthE
So frail and desolate and void of mirthE
That one poor firefly can her might appalF
