Tornami al tempoA

Bring back the time when glad desire ran freeB
With bit and rein too loose to curb his flightC
The tears and flames that in one breast uniteC
If thou art fain once more to conquer meB
Bring back those journeys ta'en so toilsomelyD
So toilsome slow to him whose hairs are whiteC
Give back the buried face once angel brightC
That taxed all Nature's art and industryB
O Love an old man finds it hard to chaseE
Thy flying pinions Thou hast left thy nestF
Nor is my heart as light as heretoforeG
Put thy gold arrows to the string once moreG
Then if Death hear my prayer and grant me graceE
My grief I shall forget again made blestF
