Rhyme Scheme: A BCCBBCCBDCEDCC

Da che concettoA

When divine Art conceives a form and faceB
She bids the craftsman for his first essayC
To shape a simple model in mere clayC
This is the earliest birth of Art's embraceB
From the live marble in the second placeB
His mallet brings into the light of dayC
A thing so beautiful that who can sayC
When time shall conquer that immortal graceB
Thus my own model I was born to beD
The model of that nobler self wheretoC
Schooled by your pity lady I shall growE
Each overplus and each deficiencyD
You will make good What penance then is dueC
For my fierce heat chastened and taught by youC
