Celestial And Earthly Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCCCCCCCDEFDEF

Non sempre di colpaA
-
-
Love is not always harsh and deadly sinB
If it be love of loveliness divineC
It leaves the heart all soft and infantineC
For rays of God's own grace to enter inC
Love fits the soul with wings and bids her winC
Her flight aloft nor e'er to earth declineC
'Tis the first step that leads her to the shrineC
Of Him who slakes the thirst that burns withinC
The love of that whereof I speak ascendsD
Woman is different far the love of herE
But ill befits a heart all manly wiseF
The one love soars the other downward tendsD
The soul lights this while that the senses stirE
And still his arrow at base quarry fliesF
