Rhyme Scheme: A BCCBBCCBDEFDGF

Scarco d' un' importunaA
-
-
Freed from a burden sore and grievous bandB
Dear Lord and from this wearying world untiedC
Like a frail bark I turn me to Thy sideC
As from a fierce storm to a tranquil landB
Thy thorns Thy nails and either bleeding handB
With Thy mild gentle piteous face provideC
Promise of help and mercies multipliedC
And hope that yet my soul secure may standB
Let not Thy holy eyes be just to seeD
My evil past Thy chastened ears to hearE
And stretch the arm of judgment to my crimeF
Let Thy blood only lave and succour meD
Yielding more perfect pardon better cheerG
As older still I grow with lengthening timeF
