A Prayer For Aid Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BAABBAABCDECDF

Deh fammiti vedereA
-
-
Oh make me see Thee Lord where'er I goB
If mortal beauty sets my soul on fireA
That flame when near to Thine must needs expireA
And I with love of only Thee shall glowB
Dear Lord Thy help I seek against this woeB
These torments that my spirit vex and tireA
Thou only with new strength canst re inspireA
My will my sense my courage faint and lowB
Thou gavest me on earth this soul divineC
And Thou within this body weak and frailD
Didst prison it how sadly there to liveE
How can I make its lot less vile than mineC
Without Thee Lord all goodness seems to failD
To alter fate is God's prerogativeF
