The streets are filled with addicts, runaways,
and homeless, out of work people who
weep silent tears in the night; which seem to
evaporate, like the morning dew, when the
Sun ignites the day with his flame!

Nobody knows. Nobody cares.

Animals are locked in cages yet are
let loose to wonder about the Concrete
Zoo without purpose.

There is freshly spilt blood on a wall
where a human once stood before being
struck down by a desperate peasant!

Can't you see it? Transmitted like a
disease with just a word or forgotten
emotion.

Never knowing where your next meal will
come from or when you'll be forced to
fight, attempting to save your worthless
life!

Not knowing the security of your mother's soft arms
wrapped tightly around your neck in an embrace
of pure love! Yes, this is true pain!

Not looking forward to the next day but
longing for that night when you'll forever
sleep, never having to face another dawn.

And so we laugh, while our brothers and
sisters suffer silently!
