During the dance to defy Death,
you must spit into the wind, signifying
your inevitable loss, for you
may stave it off for a short while,
but victory...you'll never win!
Though you may take careful stabs
at its heart, it will continue to
throb, consume, and destroy!
The thought never crosses your
mind when you're young; yet it's
ever vigilant and eager for you to
come closer to the edge, until
slipping into its pitiless brink!
Yet somehow it seems that innocence
always manages to keep you far away from
its acrid breath...its stagnant stink!
Just dance on my child, until
you can dance no more...until
Death lightly taps Life on the
shoulder and sends Him stumbling
out the door!
