The Storyteller Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DAEA FGHG IJAJ EKEK

Tim of the Tales they call meA
With a welcome heart and handB
But little they hold my brotherC
For all his cattle and landB
-
If I be walking the high roadD
From Clare that goes to the seaA
A troop of the young run leapingE
To gather a story from meA
-
Tim of the Tales the folk sayF
Is known the world aroundG
For children by taking his storiesH
To their homes in foreign groundG
-
I pity my brother his fortunesI
And how he sits aloneJ
With the money that keeps his bodyA
But leaves his heart a stoneJ
-
And sometimes do I be feelingE
A dream of death in my earK
And a heaven of children callingE
Tim of the Tales is hereK
