Alleluia Height Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCCCDEDFEFGHGIHGIJ JKJLCCMLMNOPPMQRQ

Yea constant through the changeful yearA
This queenly Height commands our praiseB
To stand in meek unflinching hardihoodC
When fortune blows its storm of frightC
And work to full effect that goodC
Resolved in open days of clearer sightC
O this is worthD
That daily sees the soulE
To braver liberties give birthD
That heeds not time's annoyF
And hears surrounding voices rollE
Perennial circumstance of joyF
Then come not only when the springtime blowsG
The old familiar strangeness of its breathH
Across the long lain snowsG
And chants her resurrected songsI
About the tombs of deathH
Nor yet when summer glowsG
In roseate throngsI
And works her plenitude of deedsJ
By tangled dells and waving meadsJ
Come here in beauty's pilgrimageK
Nor when the autumn readsJ
Illuminate her pageL
With tints of magicry besprentC
Of iridescent wondermentC
As scrolls in old monastic towersM
Done in an earnest far off ageL
But choose to come in winter hoursM
To see how character can liveN
How noble character will giveO
Through desolate distressP
And cold neglect's duressP
The fulness of its powersM
And win the soul its victor signQ
Yea come when in a peasant gownR
Amid the ample banners of the pineQ
