| - | |
| - | |
| The interlacing trees | B |
| Arise in Gothic traceries | B |
| As if a vast cathedral deep and dim | C |
| And through the solemn atmosphere | D |
| The low winds hymn | C |
| Such thoughts as solitude will hear | E |
| To lead your way across | B |
| Gray carpet aisles of moss | B |
| Unto the chantry stalls | B |
| The sumach candelabra are alight | F |
| Along the cloister walls | B |
| Like chorister and acolyte | F |
| The shrubs are vested white | F |
| The dutiful monastic oak | G |
| In his gray friar cloak | G |
| Keeps penitential ways | B |
| And solemn orisons of praise | B |
| For beads upon the cincture vine | H |
| Red berries warm with color shine | H |
| And to their constant rosary | I |
| The bedesmen firs incline | H |
| And fair as frescoes be | I |
| Among the shrines of Italy | I |
| These lights and shadows are | J |
| Impalpable in gray and green | K |
| Upon the hills afar | J |
| And the gold westering sun between | K |
| The music Hark | L |
| Oh an it be no rapturous lark | L |
| Yet has the lesser chant | M |
| The blessedness of song | N |
| The snowbird mendicant | M |
| Intones the antiphon | O |
| Et laboremus nos | B |
