Dream Anguish Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABABBABABA CDECFE

My thought of thee is tortured in my sleepA
Sometimes thou art near beside me but a cloudB
Doth grudge me thy pale face and rise to creepA
Slowly about thee to lap thee in a shroudB
And I as standing by my dead to weepA
Desirous cannot weep nor cry aloudB
Or we must face the clamouring of a crowdB
Hissing our shame and I who ought to keepA
Thine honour safe and my betrayed heart proudB
Knowing thee true must watch a chill doubt leapA
The tired faith of thee and thy head bow'dB
Nor budge while the gross world holdeth thee cheapA
-
Or there are frost bound meetings and reproachC
At parting furtive snatches full of fearD
Love grown a pain we bleed to kiss and kissE
Because we bleed for love the time doth broachC
Shame and shame teareth at us till we tearF
Our hearts to shreds yet wilder love for thisE
