Dedication Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDDEEFF GGHHIIJJKL MMNNOOPPQQ R

Love owes tribute unto DeathA
Being but a flower of breathA
Ev'n as thy fair body isB
Moment's figure of the blissC
Dwelling in the mind of GodD
When He called thee from the sodD
Like a crocus up to startE
Gray eyed with a golden heartE
Out of earth and point our sightF
To thy eternal home of lightF
-
Here on earth is all we knowG
To let our love as steadfast blowG
Open hearted to the sunH
Folded down when our day's doneH
As thy flower that bids it beI
Flower of thy charityI
'Tis not ours to boast or prayJ
Breath from us shall outlive clayJ
'Tis not thine thou PitifulK
Set me task beyond my ruleL
-
Yet as young men carve on treesM
Lovely names and find in theseM
Solace in the after timeN
So to have hid thee in my rhymeN
Shall be comfort when I takeO
The lonely road Then for my sakeO
Keep thou this my graven sighP
And that I may not all dieP
Open it and hear it tellQ
Here was one who loved thee wellQ
