To The White Julienne Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD ECECDFDF GHIHJJJJ

Again above thy fragile flowersA
I bend to bring their perfume nighB
For only in the evening hoursA
Thy odors pass thy blossoms byB
But when the ministering dayC
Deserts thee with the warmth and lightD
That lulled thee waking thou wilt payC
For these in sweetness to the nightD
-
O flower of Marie AntoinetteE
Ungrateful to the lavish dayC
Refusing it thy fragrance yetE
Relenting in such generous wayC
Perchance like thee while life was brightD
Her soul no holy savour shedF
Yet scattered incense when grief's nightD
Wept dews of blood upon her headF
-
I bend to bring thy perfume nearG
Again I cannot leave the spotH
Damp walls and prison gloom are hereI
The beauties of the garden plotH
Are gone save thee White JulienneJ
Fond handled by the fated queenJ
I hear her sigh above thee thenJ
The sentry's tread behind the screenJ
