With blossoms unnamed and unknown bespread | B |
And two who ride through its leafy alley | A |
But never the sound of a horse's tread | B |

Puts back the boughs which have grown apace | D |
And side by side where the track is wider | C |
Together they come to the olden place | D |

To the leaf dyed pool whence the mallards flattered | B |
Or ever the horses had paused to drink | E |
Where the word was said and the vow was uttered | B |
That brighten for ever its weedy brink | E |

And Memory closes her sad recital | A |
In Fate's cold eyes there are kindly gleams | F |
While for one brief moment of blest requital | A |
The parted have met in the Land of Dreams | F |
