The Lost Pleiad Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCA DEDEFF GHIHCC JKJKLL MAMANN NNNNNN

A void is in the skyA
A light has ceased the seaman's path to cheerB
A star has left its ruby throne on highA
A world forsook its sphereB
Thy sisters bright pursue their circling wayC
But thou lone wanderer thou hast left our vault for ayeA
-
Did Sin invade thy bowersD
And Death with sable pinion sweep thine airE
Blasting the beauty of thy fairest flowersD
And God admit no prayerE
Didst thou as fable saith wax faint and dimF
With the first mortal breath between thy zone and HimF
-
Did human love with allG
Its passionate might and meek endurance strongH
The love that mocks at Time and scorns the pallI
Through conflict fierce and longH
Live in thy soul yet know no future's rayC
Then mystic world 't was well that thou shouldst pass awayC
-
Perchance a loftier fateJ
Removed thy radiance from our feeble sightK
Did HE whose Spirit wills but to createJ
Far upward urge thy flightK
From this low fraction of expiring timeL
To realms where ages roll as hours in peace sublimeL
-
E'en there does science soarM
With trembling pinion bright and eager eyeA
Striving to reach the still receding shoreM
That bounds the vision highA
Immortal longings fill the fettered mindN
Unfathomed glory lies around it veiled and shrinedN
-
Oh when the brooding cloudN
Shall pass like mist from o'er our straining sightN
And as the sun born insect from its shroudN
The soul speed forth in mightN
From phase to phase in Being's endless dayN
Shall we behold thy light and learn thy future wayN
