I insisted when you made me your shadowA
Because I would hide under your shade in the autumn seasonB
That evergreen tree I envied in the rain and the sunB
-
Relentlessly warm even though when winter cameC
Snow hung on the branches like fruits and I said noA
To the voice of deceptionB
-
One of us was a rainbow because somebody appeared to put one s tears to a haltD
One of us was a Jesus because somebody calmed the wind in each other s livesE
Nobody said no whenever we had agreed to fall for each otherF
Love sprung from an oasis that knew no desert nor droughtG
-
I was yours you was mineH
We was us and nothing could tear our virgin love apartI
Not even peer pressure nor seduction nor a third man standingJ
Was strong enough to bring the house downK
-
Jezebel called one night and said love s just a weak rendition of a song sung by a dying ValentineH
And I almost gave up on love and all that s related to itL
Before I tried to create a new playlist of fast musicM
That would sync with the fast track living we re all failing to enjoyN
-
That misconception poked my eye and I became blind and illuminatedO
An illuminati I had just become with my own opinionB
Peculiar to the mediocreF
But that wasn t the truth to set nobody freeP
-
Once upon a timeQ
I held your phone and opened every message without fear of the unknownR
For I knew all I had seen all my ears were satiated with allS
ButT
-
Names began popping in my head like who s whoU
But with no answers and grievances were conceived byV
Mistrust and fight begat hate and hate begat family reunionsW
Less one family memberF
-
The obituary should ve been there in the newspaperF
But I guess the editor decided to keep it a secret for the sakeX
Of you and meP
-
And our familiesY
What about our familiesY
It s not as if they knew not what took place and besides thatZ
There s nothing new under the sunB
-
So where are you nowA2
I ve searched everywhere but in vainB2
Turn your back against time and walk back to usC2
-
Could you be deadD2
