O Silver Rose Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH

THE dark hour turns so slowly and so sweetA
The last still hour soft fallen from the starsB
To morrow I may kneel and touch thy feetA
O Rose of all ShirazB
-
Lay wide thine amorous lattice to the southC
O Silver Rose when roses breathe thy nameD
And thou at dawn shalt feel upon thy mouthC
The kiss I dared not claimD
-
Discrowned dishonoured reft of pride and powerE
From the red battle where they hailed me lordF
O Silver Rose O sweet Pomegranate FlowerE
I turn me to their swordF
-
Life hath so held me to an empty partG
Life hath so snared me bound and made me blindH
To morrow I may rest upon thy heartG
For death shall prove more kindH
