In A Monastery Garden Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBADED FGFGEHEH FIFIEJEJ DKDKEJEJ

OVER the long salt ridgesA
And the gold sea poppies betweenB
They builded them wild briar hedgesC
A church and a cloistered greenB
And when they were done with their praisesA
And the tides on the Fore beat slowD
Under the white cliff daisiesE
They laid them down in a rowD
-
Porphyry Paul and PeterF
Jasper and JoachimG
Was the psaltery music sweeterF
Than the throat of the thrush to himG
Tired of their drones and their dirgesE
Where the young cliff rabbits playH
Wet with the salt of the surgesE
They laid them down for a dayH
-
One may not call to the otherF
There on the rim of the deepI
Only the youngest brotherF
Lies and smiles in his sleepI
When the wild swan's shadow passesE
When the ripe fruit falls to the sodJ
When the faint moth flies in the grassesE
He dreams in the hands of GodJ
-
Here for his hopes there followD
The violets one by oneK
The dove is here and the swallowD
And the young leaf seeking the sunK
And here when the last sail darkensE
And the last lone path is trodJ
Under the rose he harkensE
And smiles in the eyes of GodJ
