Adam And Eve Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF EGEG

When the first dark had fallen around themA
And the leaves were weary of praiseB
In the clear silence Beauty found themA
And shewed them all her waysB
-
In the high noon of the heavenly gardenC
Where the angels sunned with the birdsD
Beauty before their hearts could hardenC
Had taught them heavenly wordsD
-
When they fled in the burning weatherE
And nothing dawned but a dreamF
Beauty fasted their hands togetherE
And cooled them at her streamF
-
And when day wearied and night grew strongerE
And they slept as the beautiful mustG
Then she bided a little longerE
And blossomed from their dustG
