Rhyme Scheme: ABACBDE FGFHGIG JKFLKMN

Evening dimmed like ourselves charmedA
With this first warmth of the springB
Stirring alive Arbat was alarmedA
With sympathetic tenderness the kindC
Gale touched us with a tired wingB
In our souls raised on a fairy taleD
Sorrow quietly cried for past thingsE
-
He came so unexpected So hurriedlyF
He who helped in all things beforeG
And far off in a line unconsolablyF
The streetlamps' radiant dotsH
Burned though light darkness some moreG
All around flowers we boughtI
We bought a bouquet What forG
-
Quietly withered away unseen gardenJ
In the sky violet redK
How to be saved from late troubleF
All returned For a moment For longL
We speechlessly looked at sun going to bedK
And Gogol nodded thoughtful fromM
The pedestral like a brother sadN
