Too Low Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGHCC IJIJKK

My house is thatched with violet leavesA
And paved with daisies fineB
Scarlet berries droop over its eavesA
Tall grasses round it shineB
With softest down I have lined my nestC
Securely now will I sit and restC
-
When their wings break from their silvery shellD
Touched by my tender careE
Here shall my little ones safely dwellD
Little ones soft and fairE
Some summer morn they shall try their wingsF
While their father sits by my side and singsF
-
Hard by just over the streamlet's edgeG
A great rock towered in mightH
High up half hidden in moss and sedgeG
Were safe little nooks and brightH
Ah well for the bird with her tender breastC
Had she flown to the rock to build her nestC
-
Poor bird she built her nest too lowI
Alas for the bird alasJ
That she chose that spot to her woeI
In the low dewy grassJ
For the reaper came with his gleaming bladeK
Alas for love in the violet shadeK
