Summer Days Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDED FGFGHDED IJIJKEDE

Like emerald lakes the meadows lieA
And daisies dot the mainB
The sunbeams from the deep blue skyA
Drop down in golden rainB
And gild the lily's silver bellC
And coax buds apartD
But I miss the sunshine of my youthE
The summer of my heartD
-
The wild birds sing the same glad songF
They sang in days of yoreG
The laughing rivulet glides alongF
Low whispering to the shoreG
And its mystic water turns to goldH
The sunbeam's quivering dartD
But I miss the sunshine of my youthE
The summer of my heartD
-
The south wind murmurs tenderlyI
To the complaining leavesJ
The Flower Queen gorgeous tapestryI
Of rose and purple weavesJ
Yes Nature's smile the wary whileK
Wears all its olden truthE
But I miss the sunshine of my heartD
The summer of my youthE
