Silence Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMN

My father used to sayA
Superior people never make long visitsB
have to be shown Longfellow's graveC
nor the glass flowers at HarvardD
Self reliant like the catE
that takes its prey to privacyF
the mouse's limp tail hanging like a shoelace from its mouthG
they sometimes enjoy solitudeH
and can be robbed of speechI
by speech which has delighted themJ
The deepest feeling always shows itself in silenceK
not in silence but restraintL
Nor was he insincere in saying 'Make my house your inn'M
Inns are not residencesN
