Rhyme Scheme: ABB CDD EFF GHH IJJ KII GLL III IKK GKJ MNN

you've seen a strawberryA
that's had a struggle yetB
was where the fragments metB
-
a hedgehog or a starC
fish for the multitudeD
of seeds What better foodD
-
than apple seeds the fruitE
within the fruit locked inF
like counter curved twinF
-
hazelnuts Frost that killsG
the little rubber plantH
leaves of kok sagyyz stalks can'tH
-
harm the roots they still growI
in frozen ground Once whereJ
there was a prickley pearJ
-
leaf clinging to a barbed wireK
a root shot down to growI
in earth two feet belowI
-
as carrots from mandrakesG
or a ram's horn root someL
times Victory won't comeL
-
to me unless I goI
to it a grape tendrilI
ties a knot in knots tillI
-
knotted thirty times soI
the bound twig that's underK
gone and over gone can't stirK
-
The weak overcomes itsG
menace the strong overK
comes itself What is thereJ
-
like fortitude What sapM
went through that little threadN
to make the cherry redN
