Vista Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHGIFJFJ KBFBLMNM

Before I die I may be greatA
The chanting guest of kingsB
A queen in wonderlands of songC
Where every blossom singsB
I may put on a golden gownD
And walk in sunny lightE
Carrying in my hair the dayF
And in my eyes the nightE
-
It may be men will honor meG
The wistful ones and wiseH
Who know the ruth of victoryG
The joy of sacrificeI
I may be rich I may be gayF
But all the crowns grow oldJ
The laurel withers and the bayF
And dully rusts the goldJ
-
Before I die I may break breadK
With many queens and kingsB
Oh take the golden gown awayF
For there are other thingsB
And I shall miss the love of babesL
With flesh of rose and pearlM
The dewy eyes the budded lipsN
A boy a little girlM
