The Lesser Beauty Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCABBA DEDEED

You are the first wild violet of the yearA
Young grass you are and apple bloom and sprayB
Of honeysuckle you are dawn of dayB
And the first snow fall It is you I hearC
When the March robin calls me loud and clearA
Or lonely rill goes singing on its wayB
Like some small flute of heav'n or when the grayB
Sad wood dove calls and early stars appearA
-
And you it is within the wayside shrineD
Carved tenderly and in the folded wingsE
On some neglected tomb and in the vineD
And leaf and saint of old imaginingsE
On some forgotten missal little thingsE
We would not barter for things more divineD
