Hawthorne Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCADBA EFGEFG

Child lover servant master of RomanceA
To you she showed not splendid of attireB
With gaud and grace but all to your desireB
In lonelier hues of solemn radianceC
Long years you followed her and at her glanceA
As at some word divinely sweet or direD
Beheld the souls of men in shapes of fireB
Through veiling flesh look out to her askanceA
-
You saw the brand upon unbranded breastE
From evil heart you saw the witches windF
You saw dark passion breed in frolic youthG
And yet with sight all delicate and blestE
You knew the primrose of a maiden's mindF
You took of shame the grave white flower of truthG
