Genius Loci Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCBBCDEFECC

Peace Shepherd peace What boots it singing onA
Since long ago grace giving Phoebus diedB
And all the train that loved the stream bright sideB
Of the poetic mount with him are goneC
Beyond the shores of Styx and AcheronC
In unexplor egrave d realms of night to hideB
The clouds that strew their shadows far and wideB
Are all of Heaven that visits HeliconC
Yet here where never muse or god did hauntD
Still may some nameless power of Nature strayE
Pleased with the reedy stream's continual chantF
And purple pomp of these broad fields in MayE
The shepherds meet him where he herds the kineC
And careless pass him by whose is the gift divineC
